Regent Airways initiates direct flight to Nepal

A Bangladesh carrier Regent Airways has commenced its flight service from Dhaka, Bangladesh to Kathmandu, Nepal completing its first flight yesterday landing at Tribhuvan International Airport via one of its newly introduced Boeing 737-700 New Generation series aircraft 4 PM yesterday. The General Sales Agent (GSA) of Regent Airways in Nepal ‘Harvest Moon Tours and Travels’ welcomed the first arrival of the aircraft and the passengers flying in it from Dhaka and declared the initiation of flight service officially. The aircraft was carrying 60 passengers on board in its very first flight.
Regent Airways, incorporated as HG Aviation Limited is a subsidiary of Habib Group – the Chittagong-based conglomerate engaged in a diverse portfolio of business endeavors which include power, steel, readymade garments, textiles, spinning, cement, paper and fertilizer among others.
The airline began commercial flight operations from 10th November, 2010 using its own fleet of two Canadian-built Bombardier Dash-8-Q300 aircraft, each seating 50 passengers in a single-class layout. The aircraft is known for its exceptional reliability and passenger comfort.
The airline will conduct flight Dhaka-Kathmandu-Dhaka three days in a week i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The Dhaka-Kathmandu flight assign with number RX 795 will depart at 3:00 PM and will arrive at 4:15 Pm and similarly the Kathmandu-Dhaka flight assigned with number RX-796 will depart at 5:15 PM and will land back at Dhaka at 6:45 PM.
Director of Harvest Moon Tours and Travels Mr. Ram Shrestha expressed his happiness in being able to conduct an international sector through a jet liner of Bangladesh and added that the occupancy of seats in the first flight had excited him and made him feel the challenge to keep the service effective and competitive.
The director Mr. Shrestha also informed that in a next approach the company will be adding direct flights to Qatar, Oman and Saudi Arabia to provide a cheaper and reliable means of transportation to Nepali passengers as well as the tourists who want to visit Nepal making passing through hub of United Arab Emirates airports.
