Yeti Airlines to receive 3rd ATR72 by 2nd week of September

Yeti Airlines is set to receive additional ATR 72-500 by the second week of September as the flight crews and engineering team have departed France to take the delivery.

Mr. Bhim Raj Rai, Ground handling, and media manager at Yeti airlines stated that the team of engineer and pilot departed on September 2, 2018 (Yesterday) to take the delivery of aircraft. He informed that though the aircraft was expected to be delivered in the first week of September it is likely to be received in the second week of September due to some delays.

Yeti received second ATR 72-500 with registration ‘9N-AMM’ on September 15, 2017, whereas its first-ever ATR 72-212A series aircraft registered with ‘9N-AMN’ landed on July 22, 2017, in Nepal.

The company has plans to add a total of 4 ATR72s within 2019 our of which one will be acquired in 2018.

ATR 72-500 series aircraft is environment-friendly which emits about 50% less CO2 per passenger-km than new-generation jets and up to three times less CO2 than older ones. ATR 72-500 compared to a car, its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per seat/km on a 200-Nm (370 km) sector are 15% lower.

The airline company’s fleet consists of 6 BAE Jetstream 41 and 2 ATR 72-500 operating flights to Biratnagar, Pokhara, Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Janakpur, Bhairahawa, and Nepalgunj along with mountain flights.
