A pregnant woman gave birth to a baby girl inside a flying helicopter on May 23 (Yesterday) en-route to Nepalgunj.
The Manang Air helicopter was carrying out a medical evacuation to a pregnant woman to Nepalgunj from Simikot Airport, Humla for the needed treatment in Nepalgunj for delivery of her baby. But the baby came out of her womb prior to landing at Nepalgunj airport, reported Manang Air Officials.
The baby girl was born with a normal delivery in an onboard Airbus AS350-B3e (H125) ‘9N-AMV’ helicopter at around 05:30 PM in the evening, he added.
The mother of the newborn baby has been identified as the local resident of the district. The condition of both baby and mother is normal and both are currently admitted at Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj.
Authority from Manang Air analyzing the risk of for pregnant woman due her bleeding had carried out a prior to take off. After landing she was helped by a medic crew and immediately transported to the hospital.
We are very much delight to land both mother and her baby girl safely at Nepalgunj, reported Pilot in Command (PIC) of the flight Captain Ryan Alon Skorecki.
“We would like to congratulate the mother and father on the birth of their daughter, who is reported to be doing well,” Manang Air Officials Said. This is the first time baby born on board on Manang Air.
