UPS Boeing 747-8 registration N624UP experienced inflight engine problems en-route to Dubai International Airport from Hongkong. UPS flight 5X-3 headed to Dubai International Airport returned to Hong Kong International Airport after the crew member noticed the exceeded limits in one of the engines during the first ascent.

The crew halted the ascent and descended to Hong Kong for a safe landing about 15 minutes after takeoff from the same runway. The fire trucks splashed water and foam to put out the flames on one of the engines.
