United Airlines to order 100 Boeing 737, The biggest airplane order

According to Forbes, United Airlines is expected to announce a big purchase for aircraft next week. United Airlines recently announced its investors about the plans.

United may order more than 100 planes from Boeing, according to Bloomberg. It said on June 10 that United would most likely choose for Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft. Following that, CNBC reported citing sources that the airline was in negotiations to purchase around 200 single-aisle aircraft in a multibillion-dollar deal that would include the Airbus A321 and Boeing 737 Max.

The biggest airplane order in history

Airlines American

American Airlines had the biggest airplane order in 2011 when it purchased 460 narrowbody jets: 200 Boeing 737s and 260 Airbus A321.

Indigo

IndiGo ordered 250 Airbus aircraft in 2015. In addition, Indigo has made a $300 million order for 300 Airbus A320neo family aircraft making Indigo a biggest airplane order in Indian aviation.

Emirates

The most significant order, in terms of value, came from Dubai’s Emirates airline in 2013. It has committed to acquire 150 Boeing 777X aircraft and 50 Airbus A380 aircraft.

Flydubai

flydubai, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, committed to order 225 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in 2017.

Lion Air

Boeing and Indonesian airline Lion Air inked a $US22.4 billion ($A20.9 billion) agreement for 230 aircraft in February 2012, the biggest single contract in commercial aviation history.

Lion Air has acquired 201 Boeing 737 MAX and 29 next-generation 737-900ER aircraft from the US manufacturer, with the option to buy a further 150 aircraft to enhance its domestic operations and grow abroad.
