U.S army’s C-40 aircraft congests TIA parking
March 21, 2017-Kathmandu
The C-40 aircraft with registration 01-005 belonging to US Army has congested the parking section of TIA. The aircraft is currently being parked at the parking bay-9.
According to Prem Nath Thakur spokesperson of the TIA, the 737aircraft had landed Kathmandu on Sunday. Admiral General from US Navy Mr. Harry Binkley Harris. Jr along with a military team from the US had arrived Kathmandu with the C-40 aircraft for multinational military exercise.
The landed aircraft of US Army has occupied the parking bay-9 of TIA and is scheduled to be remaining unmoved at the section for two more days. The unmoved aircraft has resulted in disturbance of the parking section of TIA.
Currently, TIA holds nine parking bay sections out of which first four-bay section are capable of holding wide-body aircraft and the remaining five can only load narrow-body jets.
Nine parking bays are insufficient in normal days for TIA to handle the parked aircraft and the authorities have to adjust flight schedule accordingly. But at present four days long parked aircraft of US army has added troubles for the authorities by outnumbering the required bay section.
The C-40 aircraft belonging to US army had arrived TIA on 19 March and is scheduled to remain unmoved for two more days.
