Two Mi-17’s Of NA Has Commenced Its Operation
Today, Two brand new Mi-17 helicopters of Nepal Army (NA) has commenced its operation. Honorable Prime Minster Mr. Sushil Koirala has inaugurated the operation of two Mi-17’s.
As soon as the inauguration programmed was completed, Test flight of both helicopters were carried out with the Prime minister’s team onboard along with relief/aid for earthquake victims. Helicopters were flown to Dhading for providing aid to earthquake victims.
Mi-17’s are very much essential in Nepal. Despite of difficult terrain , high altitudes and dynamic weather, Mi-17 can fly carrying full payload. Both helicopters are equipped with multi-engines and each helicopter weighs 7 tons. In comparison to the old Mi-17 helicopter of NA, the weight of new helicopter is less. The service ceiling of Mi-17 is 20,000 ft .
