Turkish Airlines to visit Kathmandu in a repatriation flight tomorrow

Citizens of US and other passengers stranded in Nepal due to lockdown are returning to the United States on a charter flight of Turkish Airlines tomorrow. Turkish Airlines ‘TC-LNG’ Airbus A330-300 flight number TK-6180 will land Tribhuvan International Airport at around 7:00 AM tomorrow (2nd June 2020) morning in command of Capt. Baris Baranoglu and Capt. Savaj Sen.
As per the source, the approval of the concerned authority in Nepal and the facilitation of the US Embassy, five types of immigrant visas including US citizens, green card holders, DVs who have not been able to return at different times are preparing to depart Chicago via Istanbul with 250 passengers.
The Government of Nepal has extended International flight suspension till June 30. Since March 24, Nepal has stopped regular flights with other countries as part of the government’s plan to stem the spread of the corona virus.
However multiple repartition, medical supplies, and special flights have been permitted nationally and internationally. CAAN forces no restrictions for those special flights but special approval for those flights needs to be obtained before getting into skies.
