Turkish Airlines’ load factor reached a record high in the month of August this year with 84.3 percent, while international load factor was increased by 6.3 points to 84.1% ( August 2015 LF: %83.3, August 2016 LF: %78.6)
Turkish Airlines, Inc Media Relations stated the information, after evaluating the Traffic record of August 2017, international load factor also recorded a jump, up to 6.3 points to 84.1 per cent compared to the August 2016.
Double digit growth in observed in demand (revenue per kilometer) that commenced in July, kept on with 10.1% demand growth.
While Capacity (Available Seat Kilometers) increased by 2.6% compared to August 2016, total number of passengers carried went up by 14% reaching 7.4 million passengers. Compared to August 2015, capacity increased by 18%, number of passengers carried by 16% and demand by 20%.
Excluding international-to-international transfer passengers (transit passengers), number of international passengers went up by 40%.
In August, cargo/mail volume was also increased by 18%, compared to August Last year.
January-August 2017 evaluating traffic results shows the increase in demand and total number of passengers were 5.5 percent and 6.1 percent respectively over the same period of last year.
During the first eight months, total load factor improved by 4.3 points up to 79 percent, while international load factor increased almost by 5 points, up to 78 percent
