The work of transforming the Tribhuvan International Airport has reached the final stage. In a few months, the exterior of the international airport will be in a new look.
The government was preparing to declare the international airport as a boutique airport last year. But that did not happen following the Corona pandemic.
According to the airport’s general manager, Pratap Babu Tiwari, work is in full swing to change the appearance into a boutique airport amidst the epidemic. He said that construction, decoration, and beautification work of the necessary structures are underway. Tiwari said that the work was being carried out in line with the boutique concept of the airport, and capacity expansion is underway. ‘
The flooring work in the terminal has changed; we are now moving to change the look of the actual boutique airport, standardizing the service to ensure the level of cleanliness, passenger facilities, and safety,” he said.
Work on the canopy outside the international terminal building is nearing completion. A well-equipped hall and a conveyor belt have been added in the passenger departure lounge to make the luggage claim faster.
He said that constructing an attractive water fountain in front of the international terminal is also in the final stage, and the work will be completed in the next two to three months.
