According to TIA NOTAM office, the airport has stated a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) on October 4 starting for 40 minutes from 03:25 PM to 04:05 PM due to the VVIP flight.

During the VVIP Movement, no flights will be allowed to take-off or land. During this time the airport will be completely closed due to the security reason for VVIP flight. Airport NOTAM office will declare NOTAM while the Order of precedence of Nepal will be travelling by airway using airport facility.

Currently, the TIA has been bearing high air traffic due to the increasing number of tourists and also the bad weather. Lukla Airport, one of the extreme airports in the world, is receiving more than 60 flights a day from different domestic airlines due to the high flow of tourists and mountain climbers.

An official from the airport noted that the international flights will not be affected and will be operated smoothly but the domestic flight operation will be halted. He also added that they have requested airlines to schedule night flights to those airports with night flight operation facility.
