Saurya Airlines has failed to clear pending dues even after receiving ultimatum from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). TIA official has decided to delay flight schedule of Saurya Airlines for 1 hour from next Sunday (November 18) if Saurya Airlines fails to clear dues up to coming Friday (November 16).
Raj Kumar Chhetri, General Manager of TIA stated that Saurya Airlines has paid NRs. 5 Lakhs a week ago. He also informed that if the airline keep ignoring to clear pending dues then the flights cut off rate will increase in accordance with the increase in payment delays and it may lead to the complete halt of the flights. 1 hour on Sunday, 1 and half hours on Monday and will cut off the flight time gradually, he added.
Previously, TIA gave a 7 days ultimatum to Saurya Airlines for clearing all the pending airport charges. It has been reported that Saurya Airlines is left to pay a sum of Nrs. 20 Millions to TIA. The carrier hesitated to clear the dues even the airport authority repeatedly informed them about the pending payments.
Saurya’s flight will be permitted to run smoothly if the company pays 20 to 25 lakhs within next week an airport official told. But if it hesitates or delays once again, they would execute severe action, TIA chief reported.
The charge to be cleared by Saurya includes landing and parking fee, air navigation service charge, security charge, airport service fee and so on.
Currently, Saurya airlines own two CRJ-200 aircraft flying from Kathmandu to Biratnagar, Bhairawa and Dhangadi.
