Summit Air (Former Goma Air) whose hub is Nepalgunj will begin its scheduled flights Pokhara-Jomsom-Pokhara from 1st May, 2018.
According to Manjani Shrestha Dangol, Marketing Director of Summit Air the airline will be conducting flight to Jomsom from tomorrow. For the flights operation, the aircraft will have night stop in Pokhara on 30TH April, 2018 she added.
The flight will be conducted from Pokhara to Jomsom daily with allocated airfare of Nrs. 4500.
At present Summit operates flights to various STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) airports in various remote part of the country from Kathmandu based main station and Nepalgunj as well as Surkhet based hub stations.
The current destination airports for Summit are Surkhet, Nepalgunj, Lukla, Phalpu, Rumjatar, Tumlingtar, Pokhara, Simikot, Jumla and Bajura. The airline also conducts charter and cargo flight to Juphal in Dolpa.
The number of air passengers have increased at Mustang after the winter season has come to an end. In the winter season, the flights got reduced as there were less passengers. According to Civil Aviation Authority of Jomsom, the number of Indian tourists have been relatively high at present.
Tara Air conducted only one flight per day in the winter season and most of the flights were cancelled due to low visibility, high wind factor and disturbance in reroute. Due to the geographical structure and unfavorable weather phenomena, Jomsom airport is frequently hit by disturbance in flight operation.
At present, 5 daily flights are being conducted by Tara Air as the winter season is ending and the beauty of Jomsom is flourishing attracting tourists especially Indians.
