State Govt. commits to upgrade and construct new airports at Karnali

The Karnali state government has expressed the commitment to construct new airports and upgrade the existing airports at all the districts of Karnali.

On the occasion of the Karnali Tourism Year in Rara, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced to construct airport in all districts of Karnali and to provide efficient air services to general public and tourists. PM Oli stated that Karnali state is filled with religious, cultural and valuable herbs and the government is planning to reconstruct the roads for promotion of tourism market and has requested local people to support in these projects.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari stated that Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is likely to add flights whereas the private airlines will also bring uniformity in the air service.

The airports at Karnali have been facing problems due to short runway and poor infrastructures so, the district authorities have committed to upgrade all the airport for welcoming maximum number of tourists.

There are 10 airports in 10 district of Karnali state. Krishna Prasad Acharya, member of Karnali Development Committee said that if all airports in Karnali will be enhanced and upgraded then the flow of tourists will certainly increase.
