Southwest has restarted regular flights to Guanacaste

After more than a year, Southwest has restarted regular flights to Guanacaste Airport. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Southwest has halted the flight for more than a year.

Southwest Airlines‘ Boeing 737-700 aircraft arrived at Guanacaste Airport with 145 passengers on July 5.

Southwest was welcomed with a traditional water salute upon landing, and travelers were given Guanacaste souvenirs as a present.

WN691, a Southwest flight to Liberia, departs Houston at 10:45 a.m. every day and arrives at Liberia’s Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport at 13:10. WN817, the return flight to Houston, leaves Liberia at 14:10 and arrives in Houston at 18:35. The flight takes approximately three and a half hours.

Southwest Airlines would begin a weekly seasonal flight connecting Baltimore/Washington Airport (BWI) and Liberia, Guanacaste, next week.
