Southwest Airlines: Engine on fire
Southwest Airlines flight 3299 declared an emergency landing when one of its engine malfunctioned and caught fire during takeoff. The plane was headed for Boston from Chicago. All 143 passengers and 5 crew members were safely evacuated by the emergency responders, no injuries were reported.
The pilot initially reported having a flat tire but when they looked to the right the engine was actually on fire and soon the emergency vehicles surrounded the airplane. The airlines is not fully sure what caused the incident but they are running the full investigation.
