Six Twin Otter aircraft to be added into NAC’s fleet within three months: Minister Adhikari

The recently appointed Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) minster has put forward a fleet expansion plan for stated owned flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation to expand its domestic flight coverage network with addition of six twin otter plane to its fleet within three months of interval time.

Minister Rabindra Adhikari vowed, that inorder to increase the domestic flight network and capacity of the national flag carrier, they were planning to add the twin otters within three months.

Launching his 100 days action action plan on Friday, Minister Adhikari acknowledged that he’d prioritize improving the airline’s business by expanding its coverage area.  In addition, Adhikari stated his commitment to resolve all air traffic issues within 100 days, including extending airport operation to 21 hours a day.

With increasing passengers complaining of poor luggage system and hot room temperature, Adhikari also vowed to improve baggage section and install air conditioning in both international and domestic terminals

Ex MoCTCA Miniter Mr. Jeevan Bahadur Shahi had also claimed that the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) would buy as many as 18 aircraft within his tenure in 2016 but failed to acquire a single aircraft during his tenure.
