Simrik Airlines aircraft fleet grounded by CAAN

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has grounded all fleet of Simrik Airlines operating in the domestic sector of Nepal. Established in 2009, Simrik Airlines has been operating 2 Beechcraft 1900C series aircraft in its fleet.

The aircraft have been grounded as per the instruction of CAAN based on the parts mismanagement by the Airlines. CAAN restricted the flight of the aircraft stating that the unauthorized parts had been used for the maintenance of the aircraft. Previously before a year, CAAN had issued a notice of warning finding out the use of unauthorized parts in its aircraft by the airline. The repetitive use of those spare part has compelled the Civil Aviation Authority to put ban on the flights of the aircraft.

Simrik Airlines has been operating in Bharatpur, Pokhara, Bhairawa and mountain flights by its two Beech 1900C aircraft. CAAN authorities after finding out the repetitive use of unauthorized parts in the aircrafts has put the ban on the operation of aircraft until further notice. The ban can be permanent if the airline will not make use of authorized spare parts only in coming days.

Spare parts play a vital role in maintenance and safety of aircraft. CAAN has strictly restricted the use of any spare parts not recognized by it. Every spare parts that need to be replaced should first past the quality test and get approval from can before it gets fitted into an aircraft.
