Simrik Air AS350B2 being assembled at East Helipad, TIA

After the loss of an aircraft that met with an accident on June 23, 2015 which limited the fleet with one aircraft, Simrik Air added another Airbus AS350 B3e with registration ‘9N-ALP’ in November 2, 2015. Being one of the leading helicopter companies amongst the helicopter companies in Nepal has brought its AS350B2 helicopter which was manufactured by Airbus Helicopters, France arrived TIA in June 25, 2016 which was airlifted by Antonov cargo plane from USA is being assembled at East Helipad Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal.
According to the Simrik Air, the documentation exercise for de-registration and new registration has already done at the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN) and the paperwork of getting registration number for B2 has already been done it can be expected that there won’t be any delays in commencing the very first flight of this debuting company in Nepali aviation industry.
As per the source, the Simrik Air engineering team has set to assemble and paint touch job of B2 and would begin shortly after the arrival of one component soon it will commence its test flight test flight within a week after the chopper is assembled. After the addition of new AS350 B2, the Simrik Air’s fleet extends to two comprising AS350B3e ‘9N-AJZ’ and ‘9N-ALP’ and next US manufactured Bell 407 GXP is in the final stage to join.
There is no doubt that helicopter companies have been a boon to our country and it can be also seen that there has been a trend of adding fleet in the helicopter operators in Nepal for which Fishtail Air, also added one AS350 B3e helicopter in its fleet recently. Currently, nine heli-charter companies Air Dynasty, Simrik Air, Altitude Air, Fishtail Air, Manang Air, Mountain Helicopters, Shree Airlines, Prabhu Helicopters and Muktinath Airlines are in operation and Heli-Everest is soon to join.
