It might take long time for Saurya Airline to resume its regular flights as the aircraft is still under maintenance.
According to an airline official, the carrier has cancelled all its flight till Saturday (December 08) and there is still uncertainty about when the carrier will resume its flight operation.
Previously, the carrier updated a status on its Facebook page stating that the carrier has cancelled all its flights till December 2, 2018. However, the airline has not resume its flight yet.
The carrier is still fighting and standing in the competitive market. The carrier has set an ambitious plan with its new management. After selling the airlines of Deepak Kumar Pokharel to a group of Shyam Adhikari the new management is preparing to add aircraft in its fleet along with strategy to expand flights services.
Mukesh Khanal, chief of Market management of Saurya Airlines stated that Project report (Planning report) has already been prepared. According to that plan, the carrier has planned to add three aircraft by investing more than NRs. 2 Billions.
According to the airline, two aircraft will be purchased shortly, and within 6 months the new aircraft will have already commenced flight operation. Similarly, the company is preparing to replace CRJ-200 (Canadian Regional Jet) which is operating flights presently with another type of aircraft.
“CRJ-200 consumes more air fuel while the company needs to operate at cheap rate so; it will be phasing CRJ aircraft out until by the time new aircraft arrive.” Khanal said. The company which is about to buy new aircraft has to be Q-400 aircraft of the Canadian company which has 82 seat capacity.
The company is in process to send letter to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) this week in order to add new aircraft. The company is also preparing to ask FLEET AID (permission to be taken for operating another type aircraft while conducting flights with another type aircraft) to Ministry.
Saurya Airlines will be operating to Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Janakpur, Rajbiraj and other potential areas after addition of new aircrafts. Currently, Saurya Airlines has been conducting flights to Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Nepagunj, Bhadrapur and Dhangadi. Saurya Airlines is conducting 5 flights a day.
