Saurya Airlines grounded CRJ-200 ‘9N-AME’ is scheduled to depart Kathmandu from Biratnagar tomorrow for the maintenance of its two blades of its left engine. The aircraft is grounded at Biratnagar Airport since September 17 after encountering birdstrike while taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
Officials of the airline company stated that the aircraft will depart Kathmandu for further maintenance with no passengers on board by tomorrow.
“The inspector of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has inspected damaged blade of the aircraft and after successful maintenance, the flight operation will be resumed,” the official added.
All the flights of Saurya Airlines are canceled till the coming Saturday.
Saurya Airlines owns two CRJ200 aircraft but another aircraft ‘9N-ALE’ requires complete maintenance and only ‘9N-AME’ is conducting schedule flights at present. However, the airline has planned to add three CRJ-700 aircraft.
