Saurya Airline going Through Tough Condition

Saurya Airline has been passing really tough condition as it has still not cleared pending dues of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

The time is giving challenge to Saurya Airline repeatedly making it hard to operate regular.

Unfortunately it faces another tough situation as one of its aircraft needs maintenance requirement.

The carrier updated a status on its Facebook page stating that the carrier has cancelled all its flights till December 2, 2018.

According to the Facebook status, the carrier’s engineering team are preparing for a speedy repair.

The carrier also apologized for any inconvenience cause due to the flight cancellation and informed to expecting to welcome their passenger on board soon. The carrier is also issuing full refund all the tickets.

Previously, CRJ-200 of Saurya Airlines experienced a bird strike immediately after it landed at the Biratnagar Airport of Morang district.

The carrier is still fighting and standing in the competitive market. The carrier has set an ambitious plan with its new management. After selling the airlines of Deepak Kumar Pokharel to a group of Shyam Adhikari the new management is preparing to add aircraft in its fleet along with strategy to expand flights services.

Mukesh Khanal, chief of Market management of Saurya Airlines stated that Project report (Planning report) has already been prepared. According to that plan, the carrier has planned to add three aircraft by investing more than NRs. 2 Billions.

According to the airline, two aircraft will be purchased shortly, and within 6 months the new aircraft will have already commenced flight operation. Similarly, the company is preparing to replace CRJ-200 (Canadian Regional Jet) which is operating flights presently with another type of aircraft.

“CRJ-200 consumes more air fuel while the company needs to operate at cheap rate so; it will be phasing CRJ aircraft out until by the time new aircraft arrive.” Khanal said. The company which is about to buy new aircraft has to be Q-400 aircraft of the Canadian company which have 82 seat capacity.

The company is in process to send letter to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) this week in order to add new aircraft. The company is also preparing to ask FLEET AID (permission to be taken for operating another type aircraft while conducting flights with another type aircraft) to Ministry.

Saurya Airlines will be operating to Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Janakpur, Rajbiraj and other potential areas after addition of new aircrafts. Currently, Saurya Airlines has been conducting flights to Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Nepagunj, Bhadrapur and Dhangadi. Saurya Airlines is conducting 5 flights a day.
