Regular work of Nepal Airlines has come in operations after four month

The regular work of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation has come into operation. In the last four months, the corporation has not been able to make procedural and institutional decisions.


Employees’ trade unions had staged agitation for 104 days against moving the corporation to the company model. The general manager of the corporation could not reach the office for 102 days. As a result, the meeting of the executive committee of the corporation was held on July 13, and the meeting of the corporation’s board of directors was held on July 15.


The government had appointed Yuvaraj Adhikari, a corporation’s former director, as the executive chairman on October 28. The corporation has stated that it has implemented the important decision by holding a meeting of the corporation’s executive committee on October 31 after the cooperation created through the dialogue with the executive chairman and the joint trade union.


Similarly, the Board of Directors held a meeting on November 03 and provided dynamism with policy decisions on issues that are considered urgently needed for the corporation. Karishma Shrestha, the spokesperson of the corporation, said that the conclusion of the board of directors of the corporation would be essential for the functioning of the corporation and that the decision would have a direct bearing on important issues such as departmental functioning.
