With the commencement of four weekly flights to the popular holiday destination of Phuket, Thailand, on July 1, Qatar Airways marks a significant milestone in the recovery of international leisure travel. The carrier will fly a total of 16 weekly flights to Thailand and its 12 weekly flights to Bangkok, enabling continuous accessibility for travelers traveling from Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
As Thailand reopens to tourists from across the globe, fully vaccinated, travelers will shortly be able to visit while also experiencing Qatar Airways’ award-winning hospitality and service at its hub, Hamad International Airport, the Middle East’s first and only 5-Star COVID-19 Safety Rated Airport.
“With the restart of flights to Phuket, Qatar Airways marks a critical milestone in the rehabilitation of international tourism,” stated His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways. Throughout the outbreak, we are happy to have led the industry in terms of safety, inventiveness, and service quality.
“We understand that many of our clients are ready to get back on the plane and visit some of their favorite vacation spots, such as Phuket. Phuket is a great place to visit in the summer because of its numerous unique beaches, family-friendly ambiance, blue oceans, and tasty local food. We look forward to working with our Thai partners to help the country’s tourist industry recover.”
When it first opened in 2010, Phuket was Qatar Airways’ 93rd destination. Holidaymakers from Europe, the Middle East, and the United States flock to the vacation location. The route will be flown by the airline’s sophisticated and environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which has space for 22 Business Class guests and 232 Economy Class passengers.
As passengers board Qatar Airways flights, they can rest sure that they are flying with the world’s only airline that has earned four 5-Star Skytrax ratings, including the prestigious 5-Star Airline Rating, 5-Star Airport Rating, 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating, and 5-Star COVID-19 AiR. These accomplishments demonstrate Qatar Airways’ dedication to offering an industry-leading experience for its passengers at every stage of their trip, including the highest possible level of health and safety standards that protect passengers’ safety both on the ground and in the air.
