Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar has violated Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) while attempting missed approach procedure at Tribhuvan International Airport.
According to the highly placed source at CAAN, the flight QR 652 was inbound to Kathmandu from Doha on 6th of Feburary, 2018 imposed to make misapproach during landing at Runway 02 of Tribhuvan International Airport when the ground visibility was low.

The Pilot in command of Airbus A330-303 with registration ‘A7-AEB’ violated SOP and was unable to carry misapproach procedure due to the maximum weight of the aircraft making left turn following the engine out procedure on the normal condition. The airport was under the IFR condition and the runway on use was Runway 02 following the VOR/DME Approach at 04:15 UTC Time.

ATS Incident at TIA was submitted Report to CAAN, Flight Safety Standard Department for further investigation. Likewise, the CAAN also has the powers to carry out the actions against the airlines operator for violating the SOP protocols.
