The Ghorahi sub-municipality has started coordinating with the federal government for construction of new airport at the region.
Naru Lal Chaudhary, Chief of the Municipality stated that the work of coordination with the central government could be made for the immediate establishment of the state level and future international level airport in the city sector.
Municipal chief Chaudhary, Chief Minister of State No. 5, Shankar Pokharel, MP Sujita Shakya, has discussed with Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Mr. Rabindra Adhikari, along with the Director General of the Department and technicians.
Chief Chaudhary informed that the team informed the Prime Minister KP Oli to take the necessary initiative step for the construction of the airport.
MoCTCA Minister Rabindra Adhikari stated that the federal government has plan program and budget to construct the airport at Ghorahi Nagar of Dang for upcoming fiscal year. The Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan Municipality has also allocated the budget to study the feasibility for constructing international airport in the city.
Tourism Minister, Chief Minister Pokharel, Municipal Chief Chaudhary and Minister of State along with Director General, have been given the responsibility to facilitate providing land of the Ghorahi sub-municipalities for constructing airport.
The discussion has been forwarded for constructing the domestic airport and we will continue to seek and prepare the infrastructure by creating international standards level of the airport, said Municipal Chief Chaudhary.
