Prabhu Helicopter Pvt. Ltd., one of the progressive airline companies of Nepal is preparing to add two new Robinson R66 helicopters to its fleet. Currently, the airline owns two R66 and one R44 series helicopter and with the addition of two more R66 the fleet size will be 5.
As per the information from the company, the two additional R66 helicopters from Robinson Helicopter Company, California are expected to arrive Nepal between May 10 to May 15.
Prabhu Helicopter is planning to conduct its operation from Kathmandu to the popular destinations for tourist and also conduct medical evacuations. At present, the company is only operating with its base at Pokhara so, the two new helicopters will be operating from the Kathmandu base.
The addition of these two Helicopters to the existing fleet of three will make Prabhu one of the largest operators in Nepal. The company is pretty sure that these new addition will enhance the company legacy, expansion of services with more flexibility and efficiently to serve a wide range of destinations.
The company with its current base in the country’s most attractive city, Pokhara operates heli services such as helicopter scenic tours, aerial photography, and filming, corporate tours, medi-vac services, search and rescue services and honeymoon packages.
The five-seater R66 Turbine Helicopter is reliable, economical and easy to maintain. It has a two-bladed rotor system, T-bar cyclic and the latest in Robinson technology including streamlined instrument panels, energy absorbing seats and crashworthy bladder fuel tanks. R66 features spacious 300 lb capacity baggage compartment and the Rolls Royce RR300 turboshaft engine. The RR300 engine operates on readily available Jet A fuel and offers increased reserve power, additional payload and improved altitude performance. Hydraulic controls eliminate feedback forces and provide responsive handling.
