Pokhara Regional International Airport project gains momentum

China CAMC Engineering Company, contractor for Pokhara Regional International Airport development stated the project has been paced up. The company has currently been working for land acquisition, clearing land, drainage preparation, foundation treatment, excavation and filling for which excavators, loaders and trippers are being used.

The company has claimed to complete 80 percent of work by 31st May 2018. After the completion of earthwork, the construction of terminal building and runway will be initiated.

The company is also receiving more equipment such as excavator, loader, dumper and truck and those vehicle have arrived at Kolkata Port.

Currently, more than 30 Chinese staffs and more than 100 Nepali workers are indulged in this project and the company has finished construction of office building and temporary shelters for technicians and workers. The number of staffs is also increasing considerably.

There is no any hindrance at the moment so the company is working effectively to accomplish their task in desired time. The overall design of the airport project is expected to complete within 5 months.

The construction project of the international airport was started with loan assistance of 22 billion from Exim Bank of China and is projected to complete within 10th July 2021. The project will also receive some grant from Chinese side.

On 2032 BS, around 3,106 Ropani of land was acquainted at Chinedanda in Pokhara-lekhnath municipality.

CAMCE also committed to complete the airport project within 4 years from the date of initiation. The airport after completion will be able to accommodate Boeing 757, 737 series and Airbus A320 series aircraft.
