Pokhara Int’l Airport project will be completed before projected time, says minister

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari affirmed that construction of Pokhara regional international airport will be achieved before projected time. Adhikari speaking on the Policy and Program organized by Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitian city said the construction work of the airport will be concluded within the time-frame since the work is proceeding effectively from every prospective.

He also said that the airport must be developed with boutique style adding that the airport should not be made haphazard with the arrival of substandard tourists. Arrival of high class tourists will certainly generate ample revenue, adds Mr. Adhikari.

He said no any experts has responded the construction of airport in Pokhara to be inappropriate but discussed on the issues which could be led on the access of the big aircraft. He claimed 14 percent of physical progress has been achieved till date and directed for support of Local government and private sector to accelerate the construction  effectively in order to complete it within time frame. He further urged not to let Citizens of Pokhara on confusion on the subject matter of Pokhara Airport and vowed that the construction work will not halt at any condition.

Representative Assembly MP and Industrialist, Surya Bahadhur KC said that Kathmandu doesn’t want to see the development of Pokhara for which they have been raising disputed matter time and again disrupting the construction work. He claimed there would not be any difficulty on operating 200-seater  aircraft on Pokhara. Another MP and former Health Minister, Khagraj Adhikari said the development of the national pride project Pokhara Intl’ Airport will be accomplished soon since Kathmandu has been annoying the developmental works of Pokhara.
