Today, Iceland’s new airline PLAY completed its first commercial flight using an Airbus A321-251N. PLAY Airbus A321-251N registration TF-AEW traveled from Reykjavik, Iceland to London, United Kingdom, in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

The carrier, which would first operate flights to seven European locations before extending to the United States, recently obtained its Air Operators Certificate (AOC) and said its inaugural flight would depart on June 24.

All flights would be flown by a single A321neo aircraft configured entirely in the economy. Two more A321neos are scheduled to arrive in July.
Flight to London
PLAY’s first route connects Reykjavik and London Stansted four times weekly, with the carrier intending to raise the number to daily as soon as feasible.
Additional European flight
PLAY intends to begin flights to Tenerife on June 29, followed by Alicante, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, and Paris during July.
Flights to the United States
PLAY intends to travel to the United States before the end of the year.
