Protest has been lodged against the unusual increment of airfare by the various airlines company for the flights dispatched to Simikot from Nepalgunj and Surkhet.
Airlines companies had increased airfare rate in the name of airfare acclimatization since 24th May. Humla civil society who had been demonstrating peacefully has alleged a vigorous movement from today.
Chairperson of Humla Commerce and Trade Union, Namgyal Tamang said they were strained to execute such action after the airfare rate of Simikot-Nepalgunj flight was increased from 5,290 to 7,190 NRs.
The Society has announced the list of their programs initiating their first phase movement from June 12th which includes capsizing all the Local Level Offices in the district, next day they have program of protesting in front of District Administration Office, on 14th June; to shut down Simikot bazaar, on 15th June; crusade on the gate of Simikot Civil Aviation Office and lastly on 16th June closing Simikot Civil Aviation Office.
Though public have been protesting time and again demanding the previous airfare rate for which they have forwarded memorandum to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation through District Administration Office,Simikot but there has been no any response so we forced to do so, said Bhim Singh Nepali, Federation of Nepal Journalists Simikot.
Chairperson of Humla Civil Society, Ganesh Mahat alerted the concerned authority to begin strong mass movement on the airport if they will not address the demand of Humla people soon.
