Pegasus 737 suffers runway excursion at Turkey; no injuries

A Pegasus Boeing 737-800, registration TC-CPF performing flight PC-8622 from Ankara to Trabzon (Turkey) overran on runway while landing on 13th January. The aircraft with 162 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Trabzon’s runway 11 at 23:26L (20:26Z) but veered off the runway, went down a slope and came to a stop on soft ground just short of the sea.

The aircraft was evacuated with no injuries but the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

The airline confirmed the flight had a runway excursion incident while landing in Trabzon. The aircraft carried 162 passengers, 2 pilots and 4 crew members, all of them disembarked safely, there were no injuries.

The 5.2 year old 189 seater aircraft might have incurred the visibility problem as there was light rain and fog making aircraft to overrun the runway.
