NOTAM time to get extended in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) due to VVIP flights delay
Kathmandu – 04 November 2016
Indian president PranavMukherjee, who is arriving at Pokhara Airport, will have his flight delayed due to his mountain flight in the morning and tour to Janakpur.
As per the information provided to Aviation Nepal, the flights movements of the president have been quite slow. So, the Notice for Airmen (NOTAM) around the Pokhara Airport is likely to extend along with the NOTAM time of TIA.
After attending the programs organized in Pokhara and resting in the Pokhara Grand Hotel nearby the airport, the President will be leaving Pokhara late. The TIA had earlier given NOTAM time from 4:15pm to 5:15pm which it will extend likely given the slow movement of the president. The Indian President is to return to Delhi today as per his schedule.
Due to the travel of Indian President, the Air Traffic Control (ATC) has been holding air traffic due to VVIP flight from Janakpur while no flights either domestic or international have been diverted or canceled.
