NOTAM issued at TIA for Threat assessment training

Civil Aviation Authority office at sole international airport of the country Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has issued notice for Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) for threat assessment training for today.

The notice stated training on ‘Bomb threat to Aircraft’ under Alert-5 of Airport emergency planning training will be conducted today afternoon. The training will be held in the presence of civil aviation officials along with safety and medical and rescue officials.

The airport operation is going to be closed from 15:10 to 15:40 and the airport has issued NOTAM and thus flight schedules are set to be changed.

The training is stated to be held so as to train all the related personnel who will be involved in rescue of people during any such unforeseen circumstances that may arise in the future and to enhance the ability of such personnel for quick response from safety personnel. This training is set to be useful during emergency condition that will help to minimize the human loss and quickly bring airport into the operation.

The training will be held under International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) criteria along with TIA Airport Emergency Plan.
