No night flights yet at Simara Airport.
Despite the successful development of airport infrastructures for night flight operations at Simara Airport, the proposed flight operation services are not going according to the plans. The proposed night flight operations is still not carried out by private domestic airliners in Nepal having failed to amend the regular flight routines.
Officials suggest all the necessary equipment and infrastructures required for carrying out the flight at nights are in place but the airliners are yet to start the operations. Buddha Air, being successful already at test flight at night at the Simara airport this past year, has been accounted for selling the tickets from the counter already. However, the service failed to start. The reason: internal administrative grounds.
Industrialists, entrepreneurs , Businessmen, Political leaders as well the public have been demanding the night flight services at this airport since it is situated in the region which is also one of the industrial hub in Nepal. The demands were eventually acknowledged by the government and hence all the necessary infrastructures were built in order to carry out the night flights especially when the unpleasant weather conditions at the day don’t favor a flight service. However, the domestic airliners are yet to come up with a planned routine.
