New ATR 72-500 aircraft to join Buddha Air Fleet by February 2017

 

January 31, 2017-KATHMANDU

Buddha Air, one of the progressive, reliable and Nation’s blooming domestic carrier company of Nepal is in the final stage of on procurement of one new ATR 72-500 series aircraft, a twin-engine turboprop short-haul regional airliner manufactured by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR in its fleet.

Buddha Air has confirmed the deal of adding another ATR aircraft to its fleet. The deal was confirmed after Mr. Gilles Collaveri, Contracts Director of ATR and Mr. Birendra B. Basnet, Managing Director of Buddha Air signed the Sales Purchase Agreement for an additional ATR 72-500, at the hangar site at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on December 20, 2016.

As per the officials report of Buddha Air, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has already provided No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Buddha Air and also all the paperwork of getting registration number has already been done so, it can be expected that there won’t be any delays for the aircraft to arrive Nepal and will also commence very first flight of this debuting company in Nepali aviation industry. The new registration for the new ATR 72-500 aircraft is ‘9N-AMD’ and will arrive on 7TH February, 2017 from New Caledonia.

The ATR 72-500 consist of PW 127 engines with spacious cabin, ergonomic seats and is renowned as most fuel efficient and will have 74 seat configurations.
