Nepali Army which has been aggressive in purchasing brand new aircrafts since a long time, is now fully ready to welcome its newest addition of CASA CN-235 aircraft. This is the first time this type of aircraft is being launched in Nepali aviation industry. The brand new aircraft manufactured by Indonesian aerospace manufacturer PT Dirgantara (PTDI) has already completed its assembly process and passed all its tests flight too.
At present Nepali Army is preparing the pilots, engineer and mechanics for the upcoming aircraft for which the crew is undergoing training in the manufacturer’s facility in Indonesia. Within a couple of months, the Indonesian manufactured CN-235 will be flying in the Nepalese sky, because of which the force officers seem to be very excited for the arrival of this aircraft.
This is a very long time in which Nepali Army is receiving a brand new aircraft in Fixed Wing Category. The CN-235 will be followed by other 2 M28 Skytruck aircraft in December to join the fleet of Nepali Army. The two M28 will be provided by the U.S. Government to Nepali Army as a grant. Another set of the crew is set to visit the manufacturer’s facility of M28 in Poland to get ready for receiving of the aircraft.
The CN235-220 Military Transport ordered by the Nepalese Army is designed for paratroop transport, medical evacuation, passenger transport, VVIP transport and cargo transport that can be adjusted. The aircraft has a front door used as the entrance or exit for VIPs or VVIPs, while the ramp door is wide enough for a paratroop operation and cargo loading.
Nepali Army currently owns a M28 Skytruck, a British made Islander and two Piper Archer aircraft in its fleet under fixed-wing category. Nepali Army very recently has received 3 brand new choppers that comprise Agusta AW 319 in July, H125 and a Bell 407 GXP in August of 2018. Nepali Army still has a plan of its massive fleet expansion and airbase expansion in various parts of the country to provide dedicated service to the people of the country.
