Nepal Airlines United Trade Union to continue agitation until MD resigns

Nepal Airlines Corporation United Trade Union has warned that the protest will continue until Managing Director Dim Prasad Poudel resigns and the privatization proposal is withdrawn.

In a joint statement issued by the corporation employees’ union, it is mentioned that the management committee has made a management letter with the provision of selling 100 percent shares to the private sector by transforming the corporation into a company.

According to the press release, Managing Director Poudel has repeatedly stated that he has prepared and sent the management letter as per the government’s instructions, but the Ministry of Tourism has clarified that no instructions have been given, no plan, and no discussion has been held.

It is mentioned in the release that Managing Director Poudel has decided to privatize the corporation and sell it maliciously at the behest of the air mafias.

“Therefore, the agitation will continue until Managing Director Poudel resigns immediately and the privatization proposal is withdrawn from the corporation’s board of directors,” the United Trade Union said in a statement.
