Nepal Airlines flight is departing for Beijing today to bring a vaccine against the coronavirus given to Nepal by China. Nepal Airlines has stated that the corporation’s widebody aircraft will leave for Beijing at 23:30 tonight to bring 1 million doses of vaccine provided by China.
The aircraft is scheduled to arrive in Nepal tomorrow afternoon. President Vidya Devi Bhandari had a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday and requested assistance. Accepting the president’s request, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that China would immediately provide one million doses of vaccine as a grant and facilitate the purchase of vaccines by Nepal.
Nepal has allowed the use of the Verosell vaccine produced in China. Earlier, 800,000 doses of vaccines provided by China have been used. Apart from the grant, the government is also taking the diplomatic initiative to procure the Verosel vaccine.
