Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has reported that the airlines will shortly issue an auction notice to sell one out of its two vintage Boeing 757 aircraft.
The corporation has already received the approval from its board of directors to sell the plane a month ago.
The airline has marked a minimum sale price of $1.7 million for its three decades old Boeing -757 Karnali aircraft bearing the registration number 9N-ACA.
“All the documents required to issue the auction notice has already been finalized,” said Rabindra Shrestha spokesperson at NAC. “We have planned to issue global notice on Thursday”, he added.
The 9N-ACA Karnali had arrived Nepal in 1987 and was operated to fly long-haul air routes by displaying the national flag of Nepal to various international airports.
The 757 holds a total number of 190 passengers and is of the ‘combi’ variety with a forward cargo hatch. Boeing 757 is a mid-size, narrow-body twin-engine jet aircraft built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes from 1981 to 2004 in the United States.
