Nepal Airlines Corporation enhancing service with addition of two ramp buses

Nepal Airlines Corporation has added two European made COBUS 3000 model ramp bus at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on July 7 this year. Corporation bought two ramp buses from Germany with worth 10 crore rupee.

The buses were dispatched from its origin Germany via cargo ship to India and were brought to Nepal from Kolkata via Birgunj Border on the Cargo Container. The buses were arrived at its base TIA by roadway cargo which took almost 10 days.

Nepal Airlines will be operating those buses for the service of passenger’s to shuttle them from ramp to terminal building. The Ground handling of Tribhuvan International Airport has become the major source of income for Nepal Airlines. The national flag carrier has already made a profit of thirteen crore rupees during seven months of 2073/74fiscal year operation. “Income generated from TIA’s ground handling is the main source of profit for Nepal Airlines” reported a source.

Nepal Airlines recently has successfully marked as an ISAGO (IATA’s Safety Audit for Ground Operation) certified company on March this year from International Air Transportation Agency (IATA) after the carrier fulfilled the IATA Standard Requirements for Ground Operation. Till date, only 222 ground handling companies including Nepal airlines have been ISAGO certified by IATA.
