NAC Re-requests for Crew layover at Osaka

National Flag Carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has called for sealed Request for Proposal (RFP) from interested branded hotel to provide service of crew layover at Osaka, Japan.

The airlines has requested to provide sealed proposal to hotels to provide 7 rooms, 4 of which are single and 3 being twin sharing on daily basis.

The duration of agreement between hotel and the airline will be valid for 2 years and will start from July 01, 2019 till June 30, 2021. The contract period could be extended for further year at same rates, terms and condition on mutual agreement.

The hotel tentative check-in and check-out time will be approximately be 12:50 local time as per schedule time of arrival and departure of the airline being 11:55 and 13:55 local time and may vary as per change in flight schedule.

The interested hotels must be able to feature required Complimentary Services in Room Rent. As per NAC, the features includes Buffet breakfast or one buffet meal per person per night, dry laundry facility, in room internet and Wi-Fi along with crew transportation system from Hotel-Airport-Hotel and other preferred facilities while the transportation for cockpit crew and cabin crew may vary.

The airline has stated that the hotels with equipment like smoke detector, sprinklers, large bedrooms, fridge, coffee/tea maker etc. along with other facilities like Crew lounge with TV and microwave, complimentary mineral water, discount on foods and beverage, free entrance to health club and swimming pool etc., complimentary coupons to crew for additional service etc. are preferred.

The airline also stated that the agreement can be terminated with 30 days written notice by either party without assigning any reason and unless both the parties have mutually agreed for an extension, the contract will automatically be terminated on its expiry date and no notice of termination will be required.

Nepal Airlines has also mentioned Force Majeure Circumstances as will be exempt from obligations if prompt notification is given in the event of suspension of flights/operations to the station, change in Crew layover pattern, circumstances or causes beyond control of Nepal Airlines.

The terms and condition will only be varied with written consent of both parties and if required, hotels will have to distribute allowance to crew member in local currency or USD as per agreement which will be reimbursed by the corporation. Bills will be made monthly on the basis of occupancy which should be submitted to airlines station manager at Osaka with separate bill for room charge and disbursement of allowances if any of which the bill will be settled within 30 days from the date of receipt.

The proposal must be submitted within 1st May, 2019 and it must be contained in sealed envelope and should be labeled ‘crew layover service’ which will be opened on next day at 1200 hrs local time in presence of representatives of participating hotel. The successful proposer will be notified within a week after opening up of sealed proposals and they shall be required to comply with all local laws and regulations.

NAC reserves the right to accept or reject any or all applications in part or full assigning of reasons however will not be required to justify in depth. NAC also reserves the right to hold or withdraw or cancel the process at any stage under intimation to the bidder and any application after the specified date and time would not be entertained as stated on the notice. Also the hotels are requested to apply directly at the corporation as no sub-agents will be entertained.
