Nepal Airlines Corporation has published Press Release regarding the fallacious news published on various news media on procuring process of two wide-bodies A330-243 series aircraft.
In the press release, the corporation has stated that there is no any inaccuracy in the procurement procedures and has requested not to elaborate a small topic like Manufacturing Serial Number (MSN) which the aircraft manufacturing company assigns at the time of manufacture.
Secondly, two wide bodies’ aircraft are manufactured according to the mentioned Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) in the agreement between NAC and manufacturing company. However, some medias said the national flag carrier received the aircraft with less MTOW than the weight stated in the agreement and they got it wrong, says NAC.2
At present, Airbus engineers and manufacturing team are working out to decrease MTOW of A330-300 as much as possible from 235 tons to 200 tons.
NAC has requested all the readers not to believe in such news where the corporation has already made a policy to extend its capacity within two years i.e 2020.
