NAC published sealed bid notice for wet lease of one A319/A320/A321 aircraft

National Flag Carrier Nepal Airlines had issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) a week before for the short-term wet-lease of one A319/A320/A321 aircraft.

The corporation published sealed bid notice for wet lease on 10th May 2017 inviting bids from Leasing Companies, manufacturers, airline operators, owners and banks. The corporation is doing so for wet leasing of one A319/A320/A321 aircraft for a period of 45 days and extendable to 60 days expected to begin from 16th July.

Eligible aircraft should feature a dual seat configuration i.e economical and business for use to NAC on its routes to Kuala Lumpur Int’l, Doha Hamad Int’l, Delhi Int’l, and Bangalore Int’l from Kathmandu base including Kuala Lumpur Int’l, Doha Hamad Int’l, Delhi Int’l, and Bangalore Int’l among others. Aircraft shall be less than 15 years of age from the date of manufacture at the time of delivery. In addition, the aircraft should not have completed more than 75 percent of its design economic life or 45,000 pressurization cycles.

According to NAC, ‘The sealed bid must reach Administration Section, Corporate Department, Nepal Airlines Corporation, Kantipath, Kathmandu, Nepal in the office hours within/ on 30th May 2017 from the date of first publication of this notice. Any sealed bid received after above mentioned date will not be entertained.’

NAC is expecting to receive delivery by 16th of July 2017. It has planned 3 weekly flights each to Bangalore, Delhi and Kuala Lumpur and 4 weekly flights to Doha after arrival of aircraft on wet lease. NAC’s Boeing 757 is departing to Singapore for C-Check soon so; they are wet leasing one aircraft for well going of regular flight operations. The corporation currently is operating with two Airbus A320-200s while it is about to auction one of its vintage Boeing 757.
