NAC officials suspended on charge of supporting illegal Indian passengers

Three officials of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) have been suspended for allegedly supporting 5 suspicious Indian passengers trying to fly from Nepal to Hong Kong illegally.

The corporation has suspended the officer Vijay Adhikari, Senior Assistant Ghanshyam Chaudhary and Assistant Hari Sahu Sunwar.

According to the spokesperson Mr. Rabindra Shrestha, as soon as the incident became public, the committee was formed under the coordination with the marketing manager Janak Kalakhoti and the investigation was started. After seeing the involvement of these employees, they were suspended, he added.

Mr.Deepak Kafle, Director General stated that the immigration officer, Kumar Poudel who was working at the immigration desk at the airport has been called back from the responsibility.

As per the information, those 5 illegally boarded passengers were present without ‘no objection letter’ and were preparing to fly Hong Kong. The plane was on hold for one and half hour after the information was received by police about some suspicious Indian were on board on Tuesday.

3 of them were arrested immediately after the immigration check whereas remaining two were arrested from the aircraft that was already preparing for taxiing. According to the source, one was able to escape.
