NAC grounds its Twin Otter at Rukum following technical glitch

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) scheduled flight to Salle Airport, Rukum from Tribhuvan International Airport has been grounded at Salle Airport in Rukum on Wednesday afternoon after a right hydraulic pipe was ruptured.

The Twin Otter ‘9N-ABT’ was on the phase of embarking the passengers to fly back to Nepalgunj Airport from Rukum while the Pilots in command spotted a fluid coming out from the Right Main Landing gear and have decided to ground the aircraft for the inspection keeping the passengers safety as a main priority.

The Twin Otter was outbound to Rukum at around 10:55 AM Local time from Kathmandu and have landed at Rukum at around 12:10 PM Local Time carrying 15 passengers on board.

The national flag carrier has also recently increased its flight frequency to Rukum aircraft from 2 flights to 4 flights per week from Kathmandu. The flights to Rukum was increased to enhance service for the locals and also ease tourist aiming to visit Mt. Sisne, Dhaulagiri Himalaya, Dhorpatan valley and Shyarpu tal.

Rukum Salle Airport is situated at Khalanga Municipality of Rukum District, Province No. 5 which is air-linked with Nepalgunj and Kathmandu.
