The corporation has claimed that China and Japan would send approval for flight operations within December.

Republic of China’s Culture and Tourism Minister Luo Shugang on his last visit to Nepal has given assurances to NAC to commence flights to China. The Nepalese participant in the meeting with him had requested Tourism Minister Luo Shugang to create favorable environment for flight operations between the two neighboring countries.

According to the NAC, it has already appointed Beijing Longway International Travel Service for GSA for conducting flight to Guangzhou. Similarly, GSA selection process for operating flights to Japan’s Osaka will be completed within a week.

After receiving flight approval from China and Japan, the corporation will then determine flight schedule and air tickets rates. The corporation is expected to operate at least 3 flights in a week.

NAC will be operating flights to Guangzhou by its Airbus-330 and Airbus-320 aircrafts.

Currently, Chinese airlines like China Eastern, China Southern, Cathay Dragon, Air China, Tibet Airline and Sichuan Airlines operate to Nepal from China.

Nepal Airlines does not operate to China presently, but has got approval to fly to Beijing, Shanghai, Lhasa, Guangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu and Xi’an whereas previously, NAC used to fly to Shanghai and was discontinued due to a lack of aircraft in 2008.

Recently, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari conducted official meeting with Mr. Luo to discuss on the various aspect of tourism sector as well as to add more flights between the 2 neighboring countries China and Nepal.

Both Ministers also discussed on making Visit Nepal year 2020 successful and help Nepal for the program. The meeting can be expected to create a benchmark in Nepalese aviation as it could afford Nepal Airlines to fly to popular destinations of China historically.
