Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced to commence scheduled flights in every operational airports of the country. The corporation has made long termed goals to serve every airport of rural and urban places.
The corporation’s domestic market dropped after concentrating only on the international market. The private airlines companies increased the internal market share and the corporation is now going to present aggressively with action plan for expanding market.
Currently, the corporation has 8 aircraft for domestic flights along with the aircraft bought from China.
According to Managing Director of the corporation, Sugat Ratna Kansakar, along with the international flight, domestic flight is also equally important and the corporation is planning to conduct flights in all operational airport of the country. He also added that NAC will serve there for social and economic development of the nation and the people without analyzing loss or profit.
The corporation will operate one flight in a week in every operational airport with its 19 seated aircraft even if 2 passengers are available. Being national flag carrier, it’s our responsibility to deliver the flight service in the whole country, added Kansakar.
In most districts, the flight service has expanded, but it has not been able to operate efficiently. Airport could not become effective because of geographical difficulties, seasonal conditions and inadequate infrastructure expansion.
Government has already granted a theoretical consent to purchase six Twin Otter aircraft for NAC. Permission was granted to enhance the corporation worsened domestic sector capacity. The decision has been made to promote its destination on domestic sector as well along with reliable air service informed Rabindra Adhikari, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
