Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) commenced its scheduled flights to Taplejung as the first flight took off to Suketar Airport from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at around 7 AM today morning. The flight to Suketar was expected to initiate on Mangsir 13 (November 29) but due to some operational issue, it was rescheduled.
The airline will be conducting one flight every week on Wednesday morning. The flights will be conducted after 7 am from TIA. The fare to Taplejung is determined to be Nrs. 5405 (Five thousand for hundred and five rupees).
The flight to Taplejung will ease tourist aiming to visit Kanchanjunga, Kanchanjunga Conservation Area and Pathibhara Devi temple.
Besides the national flag carrier, Summit Air and Tara Air also conduct one weekly regular flight to the Suketar Airport with slightly more airfare than NAC. Summit Air charges Nrs. 6200 for Kathmandu-Taplejung flight whereas Tara Air charges Nrs. 6810.
