NAC Airbus 320 (9N-AKW) Grounded From 3 Days
Recently, Airbus Company delivered a brand new Airbus 320-200 SL with registration 9N-AKW to Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) on February 08, 2015 . Within few months of operation, A320 has again been grounded. On friday morning NAC’s A320 had flown to Indira Gandhi International Airport of New Delhi and while returning to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) from Delhi, the Distance Measuring Equippment (DME) of aircraft halted working which made the aircraft grounded since friday.
It has been reported that due to absence of minimum equippment list update, DME of airbus isnot possible to repair on time. If they had list update, it would be easier for them to repair DME on time. On the regular checklist of A320, Nothing related to DME has been mentioned. As A320 has been grounded, on saturday Delhi and Hongkong was conducted by Boeing 757 (9N-ACB) of NAC. It was the fortune time for NAC that there weren’t any flight of Boeing on saturday sothat airbus flight wasn’t affected.
The new DME needs to be brought from ST Aerospace of Singapore because of which NAC received it yesterday. As soon as damaged DME will be replaced, Airbus will conduct its flight onwards. The repetitive grounding of A320 of NAC shows how the management of NAC is.
